Equilibrium reactor
React specified reactions to equilibrium while solving for vapor-liquid equilibrium.
Inputs
Fluid package: Fluid package containing the reacting components. Must include all possible reactants and products.Heat Ingress: Optional heat duty supplied the reactor.Temperature: Optional outlet temperature specification.Pressure Drop: Pressure loss through the reactor (default zero).Reactions: Add one or more reactions by providing integer stoichiometric coefficients (negative for reactants, positive for products).Heat from Source/Heat to Sink: If selected, the heat transferred to/from the reactor is specified by the connected heat flow.Work Calculation: Optional work calculation model (None/No work output (consistent)/Ideal cycle/Non-ideal cycle).COP/Exergy Efficiency: Required for Non-ideal cycle and No work output (consistent).
Outputs
- Vapor outlet stream at chemical equilibrium.
- Liquid outlet stream at chemical equilibrium.
Details
The equilibrium reactor uses specified reactions to reach equilibrium and can act as a heat source or sink depending on reaction energetics.
See the pages on the Heater and Cooler units for more details on using the Heat from Source
and Heat to Sink options.
