Expander

Recover work while dropping the pressure of a gas stream.

Inputs

  • Efficiency (%): Isentropic efficiency in percent (must be between 0 and 100).
  • Outlet Pressure: Target outlet pressure, lower than the inlet pressure.

Outputs

  • Work output: Positive work recovered from the expansion, equal to the reversible work multiplied by the efficiency.

Warnings

  • Liquid in expander: If a liquid-phase or two-phase state is detected.
  • Wrong sign: If the specified outlet pressure of the expander is higher than the computed inlet pressure.
